We carefully studied different aspects of the interaction between coffee and milk in order to create this blend, taking our inspiration from Melbourne baristas. They’re the masters of robust, but exquisitely balanced tastes – their roasting and blending lend an aromatic power poised as the yin to the yang of milk. We orchestrated this ideal marriage by giving a meticulous split roast to selected Colombian and Ethiopian Arabicas. Scuro has the optimum intensity for pushing that roast coffee aroma through without overpowering the sweetness of the milk. Best served as a Cappuccino (25 ml of coffee with 60 ml of frothed milk), but it’s also great in a larger Latte Macchiato recipe.KD2.500

The baristas in Brooklyn inspired us with their light roasts that allow the coffee’s natural sweetness to land on a smooth and decadent note when you add milk. To get this same epicurean effect we carefully selected Arabicas from Kenya and Indonesia for their incredible sensory potential, then developed our very light roast to preserve the coffee’s sweetness – ready to reveal itself with delicious biscuit and caramel notes when combined with milk. After removing the fruity outer flesh, the Sumatran coffee beans are left to ferment overnight, then hand washed and sundried for a day. Then they remove the parchment because exposed beans dry faster. The heat and bouts of sunshine dry the beans quickly. The method is unique to them and produces the classic Indonesian coffee taste - velvety thick, wildly aromatic, notes of cured tobacco.
